The new quarter at Pilzgasse 33 in Vienna's Floridsdorf district is part of the "Future Quarter 2.0" research project and combines living, working and leisure under the "Productive City" concept. The PlusEnergieQuartier21 sets the highest standards for energy-efficient construction and thus generates threefold MORE+VALUE for people, the environment and the economy. For more living comfort and a better living climate, for more possibilities for future working environments - for our common future: for more and not less. The highly complex development of the first urban plus-energy district in Vienna is becoming a prime example of sustainable urban development and is part of the "Zukunftsquartier 2.0" research project funded by the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection. The aim is to inspire as many people as possible to build to similarly innovative standards.
Under the motto "Productive City", affordable and climate-friendly living space with around 220 units is being built on a gross floor area of around 34,000 m². Around 18,000 m² are planned for commercial, office, catering and other business use, plus a kindergarten and serviced apartments. However, the energy concept is outstanding: the new quarter is heated and cooled by means of component activation - completely CO2-free. Working on the status quo
With regard to sustainable and soil-friendly urban development, the new use of already sealed land is becoming increasingly important. The focus of the productive city is on an overall package for working, living and housing in one district at affordable prices and with the highest standards of climate protection.
The office space will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Due to the early stage of the project, the design wishes of potential tenants can be well integrated into the planning. The property is designed to the highest energy standards, making it the first urban plus-energy quarter in Austria. The building is also certified according to Klima aktiv and ÖGNI.
All commercial and office tenants have exclusive access to the spacious terrace on the top floor of the building. The project is designed to be barrier-free.
